My Two-Cents: People Watching

Out of all the guilty pleasures you could pursue, People Watching doesn’t seem too bad.

My own personal heaven would be on stage at a club in Ibiza, Mojito in hand, 6’s to 9’s playing in the background as I strum guitar hero with the entire 70s Fleetwood Mac lineup. The break hits, I look out in the audience and see all of my friends, family, Andy Samberg, Larry Bird, and my favorite Kardashians cheering me on. They’re having a blast. I’m having a blast. And scene. My second favorite heaven emulation would be sitting in the corner of a dive bar People Watching. Equally as entertaining, minus the exacerbated thrill factor. But still, I would manage. People watching is the best! I unashamedly admit, I use my airpods in transparent mode walking around all the time. It makes my daily walks all the more delicious.

Since my Ibiza wet dream is unlikely to happen anytime soon, I’ll settle for the people watching guilty pleasure. I just got off the phone with my friend who is on her military deployment, and she raved about the plethora of people watching opportunities she’s had. Turns out people get all the more interesting when you're halfway across the world. Airpods are on transparent mode, or should I say – People Watching Mode. If you’re in the right scene, it’s a Tik Tok For-You page turned real life. A twitter comment section jumping off the pages. People are not hard to come by, and watching is free of charge. It's easy -- just as easy as it is to create a new email every time you run out of storage in your last one, which is what I've been doing since I refuse to spend more time on gmail then I have to. It's 2023 and no one has come up with a delete-all button? Insanity. I guess ingenuity does not excite

This weekend, I plan on grabbing my local band of skanks and hitting the bar patio to garner some free entertainment. To live, to learn, and to watch local cinema unfold in front of my eyes in real time.
